Mission Coffee Roasting Concert Series ... aka ... BraskConcerts

slide1.jpg

Here’s the low down… we like to keep things simple:

  • All concerts 7-9 pm, unless otherwise noted

  • There is a $15-$20 cover at the door, unless otherwise noted

  • Saturdays are show days, unless otherwise noted

  • Brask House Concerts (AKA - Wayne n Sue) is NOT a business, but rather we act as a “ticket booth” for the performers so cash works best! Especially if you plan on buying some Cds…

  • By the way, feel free to tip the wait staff, they love that!

  • We do offer one discount - we accept the Fine Arts and Eats card which supports local performing arts and events. Support the arts and save a buck at our concerts! Yay!!

History

In 2006, Brask House Concerts moved to the Mission Coffee Roasting Co.’s venue at 151 Washington Blvd. in Fremont and have since produced the vast majority of shows there, both charity and music events. There is seating for around 100, a stage, stage lighting, a sound system and off to the side a baby grand piano.

The setting is a classic coffee house with locally produced art hanging on the walls that changed monthly. Mission Coffee roasts their own artisan coffee beans and serves a wonderful assortment of teas to try along with tasty snacks while listening to the music. Come early and enjoy a great sandwich, some soup or some sweets like cookies, breads and scones!

Mission Coffee is owned by the well-known caterer Gael Stewart and provides a wide menu for concert-goers. The staff understands the need for quiet during the shows, as does the audience. We are there to hear the music, after all!

Have to say this is quite an upgrade from where we started.. in our home.

If you want a place to go that attracts musicians like the man who wrote “Unchain my Heart” and sold it to Ray Charles, the woman who performed on the David Letterman show (two actually!), or were part of the Peter, Paul, and Mary show recently on PBS, this is your place! Or, perhaps the John Lee Hooker Band leader is more to your taste, or singer/songwriters who have written songs used in movies, TV shows and specials. Our performers have opened for Joan Baez, appeared on the Prairie Home Companion, at Yoshi’s, Freight & Salvage, Starry Plough, and so much more.

Come, enjoy some music,

Wayne and Sue Brask
